The “Do It… Or Not?” application is designed to assist children with autism in understanding and practicing appropriate responses in real-life social scenarios. Children with autism or ADHD often encounter difficulties in filtering thoughts and actions, and this app aims to address these challenges by offering guidance on over one hundred social situations. It also encourages empathy by helping children consider how their actions affect others.

This application provides children with essential social filtering skills that can enhance their ability to navigate social interactions at home, school, and within the community.

<li>Multiple possible responses per scenario, allowing children to practice recognizing suitable behaviors and understanding their emotional impact on others.</li>
<li>Progression to subsequent levels is contingent upon mastery of current skills.</li>
<li>An ‘at a glance’ reporting system provides immediate insights into the learner’s progress.</li>
<li>The Reward Center incorporates gamified elements that motivate even hesitant learners.</li>
</ul>

An important feature of the app is its dual-mode functionality: independent and therapist modes. In independent mode, answers are shown for the child to select by tapping. In therapist mode, answers are hidden; the child responds orally, and the therapist indicates correctness without revealing the answer options. Both modes award coins towards the Reward Center.

The app has been developed and tested with input from both typically developing children and those with special needs, including children with autism. It is also suitable for adult users, such as individuals with aphasia or those learning English as a Second Language.

To evaluate the app, users can download a free version that includes one book. Additional content and multi-user features are available via in-app purchases. For those seeking a comprehensive experience without in-app purchases, the School Edition (SE) offers all levels and up to ten users.
